Shire Plans
The Shire is required by the Local Government Act (WA) (CI) 1995 to prepare a plan for the future each year. This plan must be linked to the Annual Budget.
The Shire has chosen to also develop a Strategic Plan. The mission for the Strategic Plan is for the Shire to take Christmas Island into a unique and diverse future.
The Shire also has a Town Planning Scheme and is developing a Local Planning Strategy. Information about these plans are available under the Building & Planning section.
